Calvin Chu is currently the VP Design for Syfy and Chiller, overseeing graphic and motion graphic design team in the ideation and execution of multiplatform visual assets for all brand and show campaigns across both networks.

Calvin joined Syfy as Creative Director in 2013, but his history with Syfy extends back more than a decade. At the channel formerly know as Sci Fi, he was the award-winning design lead for ratings giants like Steven Speilberg's Taken and the brand-defining Battlestar Galactica reboot. During the years between his stints at the Network, Calvin was owner and Creative Director of a boutique design company, working with a diverse array of clients including Nat Geo, Food Network, WE tv, Nickelodeon, NBC, MSNBC and USA on print campaigns, series packaging, upfront events and more.

Calvin's previous experience also includes a successful run as Senior Art Director at VH1 in its heyday, where he was responsible for branding and marketing campaigns such as VH1 Fashion award and My Music Awards.

Today Calvin is one of the most prolific and connected design leaders in the entertainment space, overseeing and mentoring teams of internal creatives, collaborating with best-in-class agencies, and personally generating a wide array of work for all platforms.
